How Shop Discounts Are Applied

You can configure a range of shop discount conditions including discounts for specific regions, price threshold free shipping, price threshold discounts, etc. These can help you to promote to specific markets.

Once a customer adds an item to their shopping cart, the system will automatically apply all eligible discounts. Discounts will be applied in order starting from A type discounts to C type discounts.

A type: Item discount

B type: Price/quantity threshold discount

C type: Free shipping / shipping fee discount

If there is more than one of the same type of discount, the latest configured discount will be applied first followed by the others in the order they were configured.

For example, a shop has configured the following discounts:

1. $5.00 off on a purchase of at least 3 items (B type) (This is the latest configured discount)
2. 10% off on all items (A type)
3. $5.00 off on purchases of $40.00 or more (B type)
4. Free shipping on purchases of $30.00 or more (C type)

If an order is eligible for all four discounts, the system will apply them in the following order:

1. 10% off on all items (A type)
2. $5.00 off on a purchase of at least 3 items (B type)
3. $5.00 off on purchases of $40.00 or more (B type)
4. Free shipping on purchases of $30.00 or more (C type)

Continuing with the example above, if an order’s item total comes to $35.00 after discounts 1 and 2 are applied, then it will not be eligible for discount 3. The system will then apply the following discounts in order:

1. 10% off on all items (A type)
2. $5.00 off on a purchase of at least 3 items (B type)
3. Free shipping on a purchases of $30.00 or more (C type)

Please remember to note the following when configuring shop discounts:

1. It is recommended that you only configure a maximum of 1-2 discounts for each discount type.
2. Figure out the maximum discounted amount you are willing to offer and see if this amount will be exceeded in case there are multiple or repeated discounts applied to an order.
3. After configuring shop discounts, make sure to test them by adding items to your shopping cart.
