The Taiwan Customs Administration requires the recipients of international shipments to complete real-name authentication in order to prevent fraudulent declarations and protect personal information.
Real-name authentication for imported packages with a duty paid value of under NT$ 50,000 can be completed by recipients via the Taiwan Customs Administration's EZ Way app.
When making an initial shipment to a Taiwanese recipient and customs discovers that they have not completed real-name authentication, the shipment may or may not be allowed through.
If a following shipment is made to the same recipient and customs discovers that real-name authentication has still not been completed, the shipment will be held and the recipient will have 7 days to complete real-name authentication.
If real-name authentication is still not completed after 7 days, the name of the recipient will be automatically added to a “blacklist”. People who are on this “blacklist” will not be able to successfully receive international shipments.
